Welcome to the website of Anna Szydlowski, a Sydney-based pianist, chamber musician, and piano educator.
Anna's piano journey commenced in Poland at age five, under the guidance of her teacher and mentor, Professor Mizia—a protégé of Chopin's competition winner, Halina Czerny-Stefanska. She earned a Master's Degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from the renowned Polish Krakow Academy of Music, receiving Distinction for both her master's thesis and final piano recital.
Settling in Australia in 1994, Anna has been a vibrant force as a soloist, teacher, accompanist, and chamber musician. Wearing multiple hats, she is a senior piano tutor at Tangara School for Girls and St. Joseph's College, collaborates with instrumental scholars, and engages with various Australian ensembles.
A passionate piano educator, Anna has an excellent track record in teaching primary and high school students, including HSC Music 1, Music 2 and Music 2 Extension. Many of her students have earned Encore nominations and secured the highest state rankings for their HSC exams.
With a Master's degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy, Anna has an in-depth understanding of the historical context of the repertoire, principles of piano technique, and the overall learning process. Her holistic approach to teaching involves psychological, physiological and creative elements, resulting in engaging and exciting lessons that facilitate the learning process and help reveal the artistic potential of the student.
